Hello, Snow Camp community supporters!
We had resounding success with the Snow Camp Community Action Network’s first annual Americana Roots Music and Community Festival held last Saturday, November 13.
In this time of Thanksgiving, we are so very grateful to our the 60+ supporters who attended, our sponsors, the vendors, and our tireless volunteers for sharing their energizing support!
We had a wonderful day raising FUN and fundraising. Thanks to your support, this first annual event raised $760.00 to benefit the No Snow Camp Mine legal defense fund. The entire event was a team effort and we are deeply grateful for the support.
We were blessed with fabulous Fall weather and a peak Piedmont daytime color-and-light show provided by the trees. It was in this magical glow that we honored the amazing Donna Poe by recognizing her with our first Local Hero Award. Ms. Poe has worked tirelessly for many years to stop enviormental and zoning threats in Snow Camp, and was integral in helping us to bring our first fundraiser to fruition. Thank you, Donna!
We are also grateful for everyone who donated to the Silent Auction and Raffle table! There were so many great items to choose from. The winners went home with some great deals and we raised significant funds from their generosity!
And last, but not least, a standing ovation to our amazing musicians: North Carolina’s own Nu-Blu and Ruth Wyand & the Tribe of One. Their music provided a great vibe and assured a fun and festive day for all. The kids truly enjoyed the Zambezi Puppets, presented by Elizabeth Norval. It was a truly dazzling line-up of awesome talent. Take a look at our pictures of the event below!
